“The eyes of the blind WILL be opened and the ears of the deaf WILL be unstopped.” Isaiah 35:5
“Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.” Luke 7:22
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he WILL do also; and greater works than these he WILL do, because I go to My Father.” John 14:12
In Luke we have a testimony of the great works that Jesus did. In John we have permission to do bigger and better things than what Jesus had done so far. Since the beginning, we have been set up for the bigger and better! We have been predestined to win. We are called to GLORY. He has already spoken into your life, that you are going to do greater things then He did. How amazing is that?! Think about it…
Basically Jesus humbly said this..
The things you’ve seen Me do are great but you will do greater! When I leave, I am going to give you the Holy Spirit who will equip you with all that you need. You are going to surpass all the signs, wonders, and miracles you’ve seen and heard Me do. Things that I can only hope and dream for my Bride, you will actually be My hands and feet in bringing those to pass. You will see miracles in your days that I never did while i was on earth. You WILL do GREATER things than I, the Son of God.
That’s crazy!
We should have faith in the fact that Jesus said, we WILL do greater works then He did Himself. He didn’t say if you want to. Or if you feel like it. If you think you need to, sure. Go ahead. Try it out. He said we will! He also said let there be light.. Guess what! There is a huge, beautiful, and bright yellow sun that rises every morning!
When is it the right time to let God use us? When is it socially expectable to see signs, wonders, and miracles in the market place? When will prayer be our go-to instead of worry? When will we let down our guards? When will we see the spirit of religion bow to the power and authority of Christ within us? When will being “Christ-like” truly invade the heart of the church and be evident to the nations in need? When will the lame walk? When will healing be normal? When will every blind eye see? When will every deaf ear hear? When will every hungry child of God be fully fed and satisfied? When will Heaven invade earth? When will we make disciples of all nations?..
When will every knee bow and tongue confess?
Some of us still have trouble doing what Jesus did. And most can’t even fathom doing greater. For some, our expectancy (in this area of our walk) has dug it’s own grave due to our unbelief and lack of faith. Or even due to the lack of our willingness and hunger. Some do believe but would rather not take the risk. It would be to big of a risk, for us not to take this risk! The Bible/God calls us to a life where doing bigger and better things than Jesus, is normal and expected. The hungry will always get fed. We are called to make disciples of ALL nations. Have we even made disciples of our own nation?
I know i haven’t. Just my thoughts and i’m nowhere near where i’d like to be. So this is more for myself then anything.
It breaks my heart to see people living in pain, when i KNOW I serve a healing God, Jehovah Rapha. I can’t stand hearing stories of people dying because of hunger and thirst, when i KNOW i serve a God who loves to provide for His children, Jehovah Jireh. I hate seeing the enemy do all that he can to bring us down, and just how easily he does it. It breaks my heart seeing people who are searching for a purpose and end up falling for the enemies lies, when I KNOW that I serve a God who is fighting for them, Jehovah Nissi.
I WANT to see the joy on someones face when they walk for the first time in their life. I WANT to see the blind set their eyes on all that God has created. I want to see a smile on the face of someone who has just heard a sound for the first time. I WANT to see the needs met, of people who think they are alone. I WANT to see nations living for God. I WANT to see violence stop and love invade our culture. I WANT to live in a country where we stop complaining about our circumstances but we go before the Lord and be the change. I WANT to see abortion abolished. I WANT to see purity rise up in the hearts and become a high standard not a joke. I WANT to show the nations the power of Gods love. I WANT the world to be set a blaze by signs and wonders. I WANT so desperately for Jesus to be seen in me.
I WILL see these things! In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says, with our mustard seed faith we can move a mountain!
I have seen God move in such miraculous ways! I have seen God provide. I have seen God restore. I have seen God pursue. I have seen God heal. I have seen Gods powerful love on displayed.
I will live a life where the nature of Gods heart is not only expected but naturally-supernaturally on display! When you get a taste of His powerful love, there is no turning back. Why limit our all powerful God to just being someone who can get you into Heaven. We’ve gotta stop this mindset of “Just trying to get by.” My Father is the King, and He can do anything!
If you knew that you had millions in the bank, would you really be content with living as if you had none. Hopefully you would embrace that blessing and have peace in knowing that your needs will be met and your bills will be paid. No more just trying to get by!
God gives us such a rich inheritance, which we have full access to right now. We live under an open heaven. We have straight contact and communication with God himself. Not to mention we have the Holy Spirit within us who makes intercession for us and Jesus at Gods side praying for us daily! We have the Son of God praying for us!
Wake up church, it’s our turn to shine.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty POWER. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:10-11
