Cake Pops.

Since these are SO popular now, i thought i’d give them a try and see. they’re easy to make, but they take some time! I love them though, they’re great because you don’t need a lot it’s a perfect size.

What You Will Need:

Cake Mix

Candy Melts

Frosting

Lollipop Sticks

Step 1.

Bake your cake mix like usual.

*Don’t over cook it!

Step 2.

Crumble your cake as finely as possible. You can use your hands or a potato masher. Or you can cut the cake in 4 pieces and take two and rub them together over the bowl, as if you’r grating cheese.

Step 3.

Add your frosting. My advise is only add half of the can first, then if you need more you can add small increments at a time. I only used 3/4′s if not 1/2. You don’t wanna use to much or it will taste like raw batter.

Step 4.

Roll your mixture into quarter size balls. I used a cookie dough scoop because it’s the perfect amount, but then you still need to roll them in your hands.

Place them in the freezer for at least 20-30 min.. Or if you have the extra time put them in the fridge over night.

Step 5.

Melt your candy melts over medium heat in a metal bowl over a small sauce pan with water.

Once your candy is melted, dip your lollipop sticks about an inch of the way in, it acts as a glue.

Have a piece of Styrofoam ready.

Step 6.

Coat your cake pops in the candy melt.

You can do this one or two ways. One, spoon the candy melt over the pop. Or two insert the cake pop in the bowl and swirl it just a little bit so the candy touches the stick, then as you pull the pop out swirl a bit, hold wih your left hand and and with your right hand tap your left wrist, that will remove any excess chocolate.

Most important! Do not twist the cake pop in the bowl!

Step 7.

Decorate your cake pops, as you coat them.

Sprinkles, nuts, candy!

Put them in the Styrofoam and let them sit.

ENJOY!

My first, but not last, cake pops ever! :)
